1. Introduction:
1.1 The MSS2026 Event for which you are submitting a registration request or application is organized by Scientific committee (the "Organizer"). See Scientific Committee Members
2. The Rules of Conduct
To maintain a constructive environment for all participants, the following conduct rules apply:
2.1 Treat others with respect. Focus on the subject matter of discussions and posters rather than individuals. Please be supportive of new participants—there are no "stupid questions."
2.2 Use MSS2026 to exchange learnings, challenges, questions, goals, and constructive feedback, not to promote products or services. If you wish to recommend a product or service you found useful, do so respectfully and in an appropriate context.
2.3 Defamatory, abusive, obscene, threatening, offensive, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate content or behavior is not tolerated.
2.4 Respect intellectual property rights. Only share materials you created yourself or have the right to use, and provide proper attribution.
2.5 Respect privacy and confidentiality. Act responsibly to protect personal information and to foster mutual trust among participants.
2.6 In collaborative spaces, clearly mark content that is not intended for reuse and, where needed, contact the owner in advance.
2.7 Comply with safety instructions, signage, and rules such as "No Smoking" areas. Accessing active work areas (including but not limited to laboratories) during the event is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
3. Bookings
3.1 To attend MSS2026 you must submit the registration form through our website. Registrations are accepted subject to availability and at our discretion.
3.2 You may not purchase or attempt to purchase admission through unauthorized third parties. Registrations obtained this way are invalid and will result in denied entry.
3.3 The Organizer and/or venue provider may refuse entry or require you to leave if reasonably necessary (including breach of these Terms, or conduct that affects safety, order, or the experience of other participants).
3.4 If hosting a physical event becomes impracticable, we may move MSS2026 to a digital format. If this results in a difference in the registration fee, you will receive a credit toward a future MSS event.
4. Payment Terms
Registration fees are stated on the relevant registration form. Fees exclude travel, accommodation, and any other expenses, which are your responsibility.
5. Cancellations
Cancellations by you:
5.1 You may cancel your registration up to 14 days before the event by emailing [email protected]. If you cancel in time, you will receive a credit equivalent to the paid registration fee, applicable toward a future MSS event.
5.2 No refunds or credits are available for cancellations received within 14 days of the event date or for non-attendance.
Cancellations or changes by us
5.3 While we will make reasonable efforts to deliver MSS2026 as advertised, we may need to modify the location, dates, format, content, or speakers. In case of cancellation or significant changes occurring at least 14 days before the event, a credit toward a future MSS event will be offered.
6. Substitutions
You may request a substitute attendee, provided you notify us at least 14 days in advance and provide the substitute's details by email at [email protected].
7. Attendance
7.1 You must follow instructions from venue staff, the Organizer, and event personnel. Applicable laws and venue rules must be observed at all times.
7.2 You may not bring, display, or distribute promotional, marketing, or sponsorship materials at MSS2026 unless explicitly authorized by the Organizer.
7.3 If the event is recorded or filmed for commercial and/or promotional purposes, we will indicate this clearly. If you do not wish to appear in recordings, please notify us prior to the event.
8. Limitations of Liability
8.1 If MSS2026 is canceled or materially changed, our liability is limited to the refund/credit described in this Section.
8.2 We are not liable for cancellations or changes caused by circumstances beyond our control (force majeure) in connection with the event.
8.3 Our total liability to you—whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise—for any losses, claims, costs, or damages arising from or related to MSS2026 is limited to the registration fee you actually paid.
8.4 Any travel, accommodation, subsistence, or other personal arrangements you make are at your own risk. Neither the Organizer nor the venue accept liability for related costs.
8.5 We are not responsible for accidents, injuries, or losses during the event unless directly caused by our negligence.
8.6 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer, its staff, and affiliates to the maximum extent permitted by law against any claims, liabilities, losses, costs, or damages resulting from your breach of these Terms or your actions at the event.
8.7 We will not be considered in breach, nor liable for delay or non-performance, where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
8.8 We do not actively police discussions or independently apply editorial control over posters. However, where inappropriate use is flagged, we reserve the right to remove content and/or restrict access.
9. Copyright Notice
9.1 All trademarks, brand elements, logos, slogans, and similar identifiers used at or in relation to MSS2026, and all related materials ("Custom Materials"), are and remain the property of the Organizer.
9.2 Custom Materials are provided "as is" without warranties, express or implied. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.
9.3 By accepting these Terms during registration and participation, you consent to Custom Materials being: (i) shared with third-party partners for analytical purposes, and (ii) used for direct communication about future events and promotions.
10. Privacy
10.1 Personal information provided during registration will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy (provided during registration).
10.2 If you register someone else, you confirm that you have obtained their permission to provide their information for the purpose of event registration.
11. Final provisions
11.1 We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms, provided that your rights are not materially adversely affected.
11.2 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us and replace any prior discussions or agreements (written or oral) on the same subject.
11.3 By registering, you confirm that you have not relied on any statement, promise, representation, or assurance not expressly set out in these Terms.
11.4 Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between the parties.
11.5 We may communicate with you by email or by posting notices on our website. You agree that such electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement for written notice.
11.6 These Terms and any dispute arising from or related to them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by Slovenian law. The courts of Ljubljana, Slovenia, have exclusive jurisdiction.
